In Search of the Eastern Dragon’s Pearl
Rediscovering Ancient Esoteric Practices
Following Master Zhang’s lead, a group of practitioners embarked on a discovery journey into the heart of Japanese Esoteric Buddhism located in the vein of the Eastern Dragon meridian in Japan. Under Professor Zhang’s guidance, practitioners communicated with the saints in the spiritual world using ancient esoteric practices transmitted by sages via word of mouth and heart.
At a monastery of Chinese and Japanese Esoteric Buddhism, Master Zhang explained the sacred practices of these lineages. The holy esoteric practices are divided into the inner secret and outer secret. The inner secret method of the Tendai lineage lies in ” intuitive meditation”, in a state of stillness where the mind, body and soul become one. The practitioners benefited immensely from the session.
The group continued their adventure to Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Mount Koya, Mount Hiei, and Mount Fuji. The highlight of the journey was the intuitive meditation practice led by Professor Zhang at the location on Mount Fuji which coincides with the “Yellow Court” in our body. The trek up Mount Fuji was challenging. The trail was beset with steep slopes and narrow mountain roads which made it an adventure in the wild. In addition, strong gusts of wind blew against the practitioners and the heavy rain pelted down. Under Professor Zhang’s guidance, the team visited various energy spots and found the correct orientation of the guardians of the four cardinal directions. Japan’s retreat can be considered as a complete purification of body, mind, and spirit. Participants in this journey witnessed great improvements in their personal growth.
